Yes I am a lawyer. I have the card to prove it. I graduated in 2010 from Wayne State University Law School in the top 10% of my class. I received my undergraduate degree from Lawrence Technological University. It is not in engineering or architecture. My bachelor’s degree is in business management. Which leads to the question of why did I go to a tech school for a business degree? LTU was really close to my house, so I was guaranteed to actually make it to class.
After I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree I wasn’t sure what I was going to do. I was working at a bank and it came down the pipeline that the bank was going to go through another merger. Surviving one merger was more than enough. I really enjoyed a business law class I had at LTU, so I decided I was going to go to law school.
The plan was to go into business law. However, I quickly learned my plan had one fatal flaw. Business law was really, really boring. Contract law was like pulling teeth and international finance law was even worse. With that plan blown out of the water, I looked to my other classes.
Of all my classes, the last one I expected to like was criminal law. When I started law school I had no desire to do anything with criminal law. I was going to take the required courses and then never think of the subject again. So of course, I end up practicing criminal law. It’s an example of not ending up where you think you will but ending up where you need to be.
With criminal law I get to directly impact people’s lives. Facing a criminal charge is an incredibly stressful time for a person, he or she is afraid of what is going to happen, and he or she wants answers and reassurances. I will provide the answers my clients are seeking. I am dedicated to delivering the best outcomes to my clients.
